Government benefits (family)

What this is

How much do federal income-tested benefits add to your year?

The GST/HST credit, Canada Workers Benefit, and Canada Child Benefit are all clawed back as your family net income rises. This shows what you would receive at your income, and how the total shrinks as income climbs.

  • ·GST/HST credit: a quarterly payment, fully phased out for higher earners.
  • ·Canada Workers Benefit (CWB): tops up modest working income, phases out above the threshold.
  • ·Canada Child Benefit (CCB): the big one, up to $7,787 per child under 6, income-tested.
  • ·Net income includes both partners; earned income is just employment and self-employment.
