Using the calculators
Invest Wise Way includes a large library of Canadian calculators, for mortgages, loans, tax, savings, and retirement income, each tuned to CRA and provincial rules.
Open the calculators index to browse by topic. Each calculator is self-contained: enter your numbers and read the result, with the assumptions shown.
Calculators are educational. For a question that spans several of them, ask Frankie, which picks and runs the ones it needs.
Step by step
- 01
Browse the library
Open Calculators from the dashboard to see them grouped by topic.
- 02
Pick one and enter your figures
Each calculator asks only for what it needs and shows the result immediately.
- 03
Read the assumptions
Calculators state the rates and rules they use, so you can see what is behind the number.
- 04
Ask Frankie for the bigger picture
For a question that needs several calculators, Frankie runs them together and explains the result.
Questions
- Are the calculators Canadian?
- Yes. They use CRA and provincial rules (tax brackets, CPP/OAS, RRSP/TFSA/FHSA, RRIF) and Canadian dollars throughout.
- Do I need an account to use them?
- Many calculators work on the numbers you type in. Signing in lets the dashboard and Frankie use your saved figures.
